Andrew Hosmer has announced his intention to run for the democratic nomination for Congress in NH's 1st District. The Primary Election is about 13 months away.
Our country is at a critical crossroads, and the future is at stake. The challenges we face as a nation require commonsense leaders, not career politicians. As the son of a millworker and a schoolteacher, I believe New Hampshire's First District needs someone willing to fight for working families and seniors-not politicians like Frank Guinta, who are more interested in playing cheap political games than they are with creating new jobs and growing our economy. So, today, I am announcing my candidacy for Congress in New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District.

He joins Joanne Dowdell and Carol Shea-Porter in running for the opportunity to serve NH-01.

The narrative poisted by Pindell is that Mr. Hosmer will position himself as a moderate in the race.

Carol Shea-Porter is well known in these parts, we encourage and welcome all campaigns to use Blue Hampshire as medium to introduce yourselves to the public.

Three credible candidates are better than two. (4.00 / 3)
I had the good fortune on meeting (in a non-political context) one of the four candidates in last cycle's VT-Gov race.

I asked him what contributed to their success (VT has a late primary like we do, all the defeated candidates worked like heck for the nominee, who won a close victory).

He said there were two keys:

1) Having more than two credible candidates diminish the chances of it becoming a bitter, binary feud. More candidates means it can be more about the issues and differences of opinion than Coke v. Pepsi.

2) They all knew/worked with each other from previous political experience.

So we have at least achieved #1 here!

Good luck to all.  The more candidates Guinta has to answer to in the press, the better.

3 is better than 2, Dean is right.  (I am not counting that Jozef Hodgkins guy, who is apparently a mere dilettante.)

There seems to be a perception in some circles that Carol Shea-Porter is not a "moderate" and therefore needs to be primaried.  Her views are in fact well within the mainstream; she just states them more forcefully than other Democrats.  And that's a good thing.  

Anyone who gets nominated is going to be caricatured as a wild-eyed leftist.  That's just the way it is: that's how the Republicans and their media lackeys roll.  Carol has shown that she knows how to fight back against those turkeys.

when he was mayor, he answered for nothing - a superb job of passive-aggressive conservative politicking, taking "governs best that governs least" to a new level.

Don't see much policy differences between them, although I hear through my grapevine that Hosmer has the makings of a Blue Dog perhaps?  I know what kind of congresswoman Carol was and will be.  She was on my side.  I trust her and I believe she will do her homework and vote for what she decides are the best choices available for the rest of us.  Why would I want to take a chance on an unknown after two years of suffering under a corrupt and dishonest jerk?

Carol is the best candidate period.

I won't even go into the reasons--it's so obvious.

And she has the deepest grass roots organization. I did the afternoon viz  for Bob Perry today and it was like a homecoming.

Always a lot of hard core carol supporters at the ramparts.  Never fails.

We show up, work hard and have the most fun. Look out!

It's encouraging that the race is drawing contenders (0.00 / 0)
Guinta seems to be considered vulnerable by folks who are studying it closely...
