Frank Guinta's Social Security Shouldn'ts

by: Dean Barker

Sat Oct 01, 2011 at 18:45:02 PM EDT

( - promoted by William Tucker)

Candidate Frank Guinta, May 2010:

"My kids are six and five. They shouldn't know what Social Security is."
Congressman Frank Guinta, September 2011:
we shouldn't talk about eliminating Social Security or Medicare or Medicaid. We should talk about preserving it, protecting it, making it financially sound.
People who want to represent you really shouldn't be duplicitous.

You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows - just watch Frank. n/t (0.00 / 0)

Duplicitous is just the right word... (0.00 / 0)
Thanks for bring this juxtaposition forward, Tuck.  It gets to the essence of Frank's political approach.  I've seen him repeat that quote about his kids many times.  It's a core belief.  But he's willing to say anything to pour honey over his hard core positions on Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, health care, environmental protection and the fundamental role of government.

America should be a land of "opportunity," he says, meaning "personal responsibility."  You're on your own to pay for health care, survive without a job, invest for retirement.

And he still gets attacked from the right in his town hall meetings!

and thanks to Dean for continuing to pull this kind of material together (0.00 / 0)

When you create an astroturf movement (0.00 / 0)
you have to worry that it is going to get out of your control.

Thank's Dean for the drumbeat (4.00 / 1)

Keep the drumbeat going on this guy.

Sooner or later the public will catch on.

In the meantime, keeping a record of Frank b.s. at our fingertips is a powerful weapon to spread beyond the borders of BH.

Imagine another year of this!
