Hirshberg

Reports today that Stonyfield Yogurt CEO and Democratic party supporter Gary Hirshberg is stepping down as CEO. If memory serves, Mr. Hirshberg declined running for Senate a couple years back because he didn't have a succession plan in place at Stonyfield.

Today's news frees him up to run for Governor.

Despite his repeated references to his not wanting to run, I hope he changes his mind. His status as a successful NH businessman, running one of the state's largest employers built up from scratch make him a front-runner from day one, and a ringer to win - IMO.

I agree (4.00 / 1)
When I saw that story I instantly went, "Please be running for Governor!"

He was asked and said he wasn't really thinking about it, but he knows there is a lot of work to be done he'll be "involved" in some way.

In speaking with an independent... (0.00 / 0)
...at work when I found this out, I discover my colleague had attended Rivier College's May 2011 commencement ceremony, where Mr. Hirshberg spoke.

My coworker said he was, 'electrifying.'

He votes for either party in most elections, with I suppose a general leaning towards the Democrats. But, when I heard him, an independent, say he was impressed, my confidence in Gary's ability to win the Governor's seat was suitably raised.
