O'Keefe Goons Impersonated LIVING Voter

by: Dean Barker

( - promoted by William Tucker)

I actually got wind of this yesterday, but held back until the victim of the crime contacted the Attorney General.

TPM has the scoop:

Robert William Beaulieu is 23-years-old, lives in Nashua, New Hampshire, and is a registered Democrat. He's also very much not dead.

But you wouldn't have known that if you watched the lastest undercover sting video from James O'Keefe's Project Veritas, which featured a man with an Irish accent attempting to obtain a ballot on behalf of a Robert Beaulieu who lives on Cassandra Lane.

Presumably the O'Keefe goon screwed up his attempt to impersonate a different, recently deceased Beaulieu.

The crime victim's reaction:

"Yeah, he butchered our name," Robert W. Beaulieu told TPM, adding that the fact that someone using his name was able to obtain a ballot doesn't change his opposition to a photo ID law.

"I've heard Republicans try to spin it their way, but I don't see [voter impersonation fraud] as a big problem at all," Beaulieu told TPM, but said that the poll watcher in the video shouldn't have helped the individual impersonating him out with his address.

James O'Keefe and his band of Project Moranitans spent $50,000 disenfranchising this young Granite Stater.

I'd very much like to know when they'll be arrested.

I'm really starting to wonder (4.00 / 3)
IF they'll be arrested.  This really doesn't seem all that hard.  The bastards impersonated people or attempted to do so and in the process, took possession of a ballot.  Even if returned, they placed their hand on it.  Therefore, the fraud has been committed.

Take these scum down and put them in the NH State prison!

There are some good reasons this could take days (4.00 / 4)
For a solid prosecution the AG's office and federal prosecutors need to make sure they get right:
  1. Which laws should be used? There may be several violations, with some more clear-cut than others. Don't weaken the case by pursuing the weakest, perhaps.
  2. Is there a concern that federal law trumps state law? Let's figure that out before the defense lawyers get creative.
  3. Which evidence is admissable? I've seen videos on web sites, but I doubt there's a clean chain of custody for them

But the prosecutors should have a sense of urgency on this. Election and voting crimes need to be prosecuted quickly.

One of the reasons (4.00 / 4)
to defund state government is that you can delay prosecution or make it ineffective by overloading what is left of, say, an AG's office and staff.  It's another way of making a legislature the dominant branch of government.  Especially in a state like NH, that doesn't have to pay legislators much.

One reason to act quickly. (4.00 / 3)
Somewhere (can't find it now) the attention deprived idiots bragged that this might be the first of a number of attempts to do this throughout the primary season.

Other states would benefit from swift action here.

Arrest em (0.00 / 0)

ok --- put together a solid case but prosecute these creeps.

two thoughts (4.00 / 3)
Thought one: Republicans talk, ad nauseam,  about individual responsibility ...Is it time for a citizen's arrest of O'Keefe and Company, since the Republican majority has conveniently gutted the enforcement arm of government and weaponized everyone else...(if O'Keefe can do a documentary on Voter Fraud, I can do a documentary on Citizen Arrests: Who wants to hold the camera?)

Second thought:  Governor Lynch vetoed the voter registration bill and in retaliation for the veto we are subjected to a James O'Keefe sting.
My question?  How will Speaker O'Brien orchestrate the next sting when he doesn't get his way because Governor Lynch's veto of one of O'Brien's pet democracy destroying, government starving, union eviscerating, bills is not overridden.

yup (4.00 / 2)
A lot of people are wondering if O'Keefe was invited in and by whom.

There is a very simple fix to the alleged problem with checklists not being updated in the last 2 or 3 weeks before an election: have the Secretary of State's office fax updates to the town clerks from the bureau of vital statistics, which is part of the SoS and which gets the death certificates.  Requiring photo id, and disenfranchising hundreds, if not thousands, to address a non problem is ridiculous.
