How to Observe Phone Jamming 5th Anniversary??

by: Kathy Sullivan

Thu Sep 27, 2007 at 23:21:22 PM EDT

So, while opening the UPS package containing my "NH Justice Leage" t-shirt and hoodie, it occurred to me that the 5th anniversary of the Republican phone jamming is nearly upon us.

Yes, on Nov. 5, it will be five years since Republican operatives committed felonies by jamming NHDP phone lines to disrupt our election day efforts.  I'm still waiting for a denounciation of this outrage from John Sununu.

Now, not only is the 5th anniversary coming up, but, also, we have the election for Sununu's seat coming up on Nov. 4, 2008.

Kathy Sullivan :: How to Observe Phone Jamming 5th Anniversary??
Yup, the 5th anniversay of phone jamming is also the start of the countdown to the defeat of Where's John E. Sununu.

I would love to hear ideas on how we can best observe this anniversary.  A candlelight vigil outside Sununu's office?  A phone in?  Perhaps put some money together for an ad reminding the Republican Party we are watching them?  Please post your ideas; I really don't want to let the 5th anniversary of this blot on NH elections go by unobserved!  Thanks!

Volunteer Phone Bank reach out to some subset of the Dem list to remind them that 5years ago repubs jammed the phone and that they will have a choice in 08 to replace the beneficiary.

A few stream of consciousness ideas....

and call and call his office

I like it, but: (0.00 / 0)
It would be a little ironic to use the phones to harass Sununu about Republican phone harrassment!

tailgate (0.00 / 0)
How about a tailgate party on the 4th (Sunday) at either the Verizon lot on Cedar St or in one of the Court House parking lots?  Candidates could be invited to speak, and you could do a kind of link from 4 Nov 07 to 4 Nov 08.

Another good idea (0.00 / 0)
I knew there would be a lot of creativity on this site!

those aged and infirm, carless, or otherwisend unable to get to the polls to demonstrate at his office. I can hear it now..."They tried to take away our votes..."

Wow. The possibilities are endless. (0.00 / 0)
I like the toast and jam fundraiser idea - maybe with bread in the shape of phones?

And a list of what the world would be like today if we didn't have rubber stamp enablers like John E. since 2002 in the senate.

I like the idea of a major calling campaign on that day, to remind people of what happened while at the same time urging them to come out and vote two Novembers hence.

I say we celebrate this anniversary by all getting on the phones to remind the people of Manchester to get out and vote on November 6th against John Sununnu's tallest standing GOP ally in the state--Frank Guinta.
