I've worked in high tech for a while, so I'm well acquainted with the innate animosity of inanimate objects, in this case computers and computer networks. There are logical, technological limitations that could have caused these delays.
Perhaps, because I provided my e-mail address late, there was a delay adding this information to the campaign's database.
Perhaps, because of high volume, my e-mail was sent late. The Internet is like a pipe; it can send a limited amount of data at the same time.
And yet, given the nature of this era, this incident makes me wonder. Let me put on my tin-foil hat as I contemplate more paranoid theories.
It was here in NH that Republicans jammed Democratic GOTV phone banks.
Cellular phone service providers have blocked text messages from certain progressive organizations. Could an anti-Edwards hacker have delayed these GOTV e-mails?
Folks on the mailing list from at least one progressive news outlet have complained regularly that their e-mail alerts of news updates have been blocked. Could my broadband service provider have delayed these messages?
These delayed e-mail messages may indeed be no more than a technological glitch. Then again, as my Southern Baptist college roommate once said, "There may be Satanic forces at work here."
If someone from the Edwards campaign can explain this, please comment so I can take off my tinfoil hat - it's scaring my dog and it makes my wife nervous.
