The tragic plight of (4.00 / 1)
America's homeful...

CEO (4.00 / 1)
A CEO I once worked for was trying to comiserate with us over the then-shaky economy (not the now-shaky economy) and how we would be tightening our belts, would need to work harder, etc.

So he says something to the effect of, "This affects me too, you know. I've got three mortgages."

Several of us wept openly, because we were so deeply moved to pity the man.

This whole thing would be over, with a good candidate (4.00 / 1)
McCain has a glass jaw, and he isn't used to any media scrutiny.

It should have played out roughly like this:

Q: How many houses do you own?
A: We're very fortunate. I say four, but it depends how you count things. Somebody else might count two building on the same lot differently and get a different number.

McCain's hissy fit (0.00 / 0)

McCain 'Housing Problem'

Mac must be fuming. This add goes right to Rezko. No surprise there.

Talks about Obama's "million dollar mansion." Most middle class homes in Metro Boston are 300K to 700K, so a cool mil seems likely for the author of a couple of best sellers. How much is Dan Brown's place worth?
Also, was it at a million BEFORE the bubble burst?

It is sad to watch McCain get led by the nose by his Rovian sleaze artists.

The giant finds its gait.

I think we can thank the Clintons for opening up this issue, (0.00 / 0)
probably because they felt vulnerable about the "help" they got in the purchase of their first house.
The McCain team is, of course, even more vulnerable.
I think we can conclude with some certainty that the Rogue Republican strategy has been to attack in areas where their own candidate is vulnerable to distract attention from that vulnerability.
We were operating from the wrong assumption (that they were aiming at our strengths) and that made it very difficult to counter.

It's being reported that (4.00 / 4)
Arnie Arnesen had this to say:

she understands why McCain doesn't have any idea how many houses he has.  "He doesn't have to clean them," she said.
