From Maverick Reformer to Reformed Maverick

by: Douglas E. Lindner

If only a campaign commercial could be four and a half minutes long, this would be the one to air over and over again.  You haven't seen an account of McCain's transformation this biting and concise.

The Daily Show presents the bio video you didn't see in St. Paul:

Although, this ad seems kind of current somehow (especially the "secret" part):

It's time for a change and I need a nap. Or is it the other way around?

"A track spokesman said a crowd "in excess of 105,000" is expected."

This is not a novel to be tossed aside lightly. It should be thrown with great force.

Interesting choice of venue. I am going to guess that they hope ABC will provide coverage of McCain's visit on the pre-race show, because McCain visiting NHMS (the new name) for the Sylvania 300 doesn't exactly do a lot in terms of winning votes in New Hampshire. Will there be a lot of NH people there? Sure, but people are there to see a race - in this case the first of the 10 chase to the Sprint Cup races - and will be a lot more interested in their favorite drivers than in John McCain saying, "Gentlemen, start your engines".

"When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on."  Franklin D. Roosevelt   [I'm an advisor to the NHDP Coordinated Campaign]
