New Hampshire's most respected political reporter gets that rarest of opportunities - an interview with Sarah Palin.
So what does John DiStaso do? He gives her an uncritical platform to repeat her hate-inciting smears:
Although she did not mention Barack Obama's ties to former domestic terrorist Bill Ayers during her speech at Dover High School today, Sarah Palin said afterward she would not hesitate to repeat on the stump that Obama is "palling around with terrorists."
"I'd use that term again in a heartbeat," Palin said in an interview, "because, I'll tell you, when you kick off your political career in the living room of an unrepentant, known domestic terrorist and then you continue that association with him via e-mails, phone calls, sitting on boards together, working on -- quote, unquote -- education reform together, characterizing that as 'palling around,' I would use that characterization again."
And he follows it up without even a basic journalistic response.
This kind of obvious shilling for the Republican ticket would be laughable (heck, it even would be laughable on a partisan right-wing blog) if it weren't so dangerous.
The only reason politically-minded who aren't rabidly right-wing put up with the rabidly right-wing Union Leader is because they sometimes - and increasingly less so in the wake of Politicker - get stories first.
But there is no reason whatsoever any self-respecting New Hampshire Democrat, after reading that, should ever be feeding DiStaso tips again. Shut him out.
