Manchester Races Set

by: Peter Sullivan

The UL has a list of candidates for office in Manchester's elections. Mercifully, this list omits the candidates for selectmen, ward clerk, and moderator:

Peter Sullivan :: Manchester Races Set
I am encouraged to see so many new candidates who will help change the culture of city government. Richard Komi, Garth Corriveau, Patrick Arnold, Elise Annunziata, and Kate Vaughn are smart young Democrats who are familiar to many of you, and progressive-minded independents like Mike DeBlasi and Christine Pariseau Telge, who have demonstrated their dedication and intelligence in other fields, will be part of a new generation of change-minded leaders at city hall.

to Rep. Infantine, who's entitled to change his mind (albeit on the fly), politics like this is exactly the kind of gimmickery that has plagued Manchester for far too long. The UL:

yesterday William Infantine changed his mind and kept himself in the running for Ward 6 alderman. Infantine said he received many calls from supporters after he announced he would not seek the seat being vacated by Real Pinard.

While we'll watch the rebroadcast of his "Manchester Matters" TV show Sunday @ 10m on MCAM to hear his attacks directly, our campaign is NOT about Will Infantine. It's about our Ward 6 neighbors, our city, its formidable challenges and innovative, pragmatic solutions to them. It's about bringing new energy and urgency to city government.

Political gamesmanship like this should have no place in Manchester. That's why we're running to change City Hall.
