Say Anything Ayotte Faces the Music for Her Conflicting Comments

(Stealth Candidate Blues: Reality-based analysis edition. Part put below the fold. - promoted by Dean Barker)

As Dean wrote earlier,  Kelly Ayotte continues to take heat from key Republican activists for the positions she held while Attorney General.  This time it's regarding her stance on the Second Amendment.

According to NHPoliticalReport.com, last Friday Ayotte was "told off in front of hundreds of influential primary voters" by a former state Representative who publicly railed against her record of suppressing the rights of gun owners.

Citing her opposition to the "Castle Doctrine", a law which justifies the use of deadly force against an intruder on one's own property, former state Representative Richard "Stretch" Kennedy said Ayotte was not "good on guns."  Kennedy told NHPoliticalReport that he spoke with Ayotte after his remarks and that "she was upset, but didn't deny the facts."  He went on to say, "she is a nice kid, but she has no legislative experience and it is clear she has a lot to learn."

As Attorney General, Ayotte actively lobbied against the "Castle Doctrine" and even wrote a letter to the Governor stating
that property owners should only apply force "in those situations where there is no reasonable alternative."
However, just two weeks ago Say Anything Ayotte told a crowd of Republican activists:
"I would be remiss if I didn't mention that one of the important ways that we are going to keep our nation safe is by vigilantly protecting our individual right to bear arms so that we can protect ourselves. It begins at home."

Which is it, Kelly?

Last weekend, Ayotte's campaign spokesman told the Nashua Telegraph that Ayotte "can't be held responsible" for the choices she made while Attorney General.  But as, the conservative blog, Granite Grok pointed out "the only thing that legitimizes Ayotte's candidacy is her tenure as attorney general.  She can either embrace that or reject it, but she cannot do both."

First Kelly Ayotte changed her views on gambling, then on the Economic Recovery Act, now she's changing her views on the Second Amendment.  She has proven that she is willing to say or do anything to get elected even if that means contradicting herself in the process.

The Blue Hampshire calendar (4.00 / 2)
over on the left margin is available, if General Ayotte would like to post her town hall schedule.

I know some protesters are upset when candidates don't schedule them quickly enough.

Excellent... (0.00 / 0)
So, once Kelly Ayotte absorbs all the political wisdom Craig Benson has to offer, she'll move on to Stretch Kennedy?

Yeesh. I can hardly wait for her ceremonial visit to the Mel Thomson gravesite.
