Sprintin' Sununu Joins the UnFab Four Farewell Tour

by: Dean Barker

Fri Apr 27, 2007 at 20:28:01 PM EDT

unfabfourJohn. Norm. Susan. Gordon.  Catch the UnFab Four this summer on their final, farewell, fundraising tour:
The Senate's endangered Republican quartet is on tour -- a nationwide, months-long fundraising road show likely to stop at a hotel conference room near you.

Sen. John Ensign of Nevada, chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, said he expects to put together as many as 30 joint fundraising events around the country for the four most vulnerable senators of 2008: Sens. Norm Coleman of Minnesota, Susan Collins of Maine, Gordon Smith of Oregon and John Sununu of New Hampshire.

Ensign, The Four UnTenables' Agent, has already booked John E. with his bandmates in Houston and Vegas.  Will you be ready when they come to your town?

Hits include: Stop Your Sobbin' (about Health Care), Nobody Knows the Trouble I'm In, Stand By Your President, Between Iraq and a Hard Place, and Cash Rules Everything Around Me.

This is their final tour, and a reunion is highly unlikely, so get your tickets now!

Heh (0.00 / 0)
I'll pass, thanks.

Those old bands just don't know when to quit.

Bu' Bye.. (0.00 / 0)
Bwaa haa haaa! "UnFab Four Farwell Tour". Bwaa haaa haa.

I need a tissue... laughing so hard I'm crying.

And please let this be prophetic not just comedic...

Not as smart as I think I am, but not as dumb as I look.

Back in the day (0.00 / 0)
someone called the Monkees the "Prefab Four."

Doesn't this seem like a foolish idea? (4.00 / 1)
The RSCC sends out a press release identifying the most likely losers? And they use their loser status as a fundraising draw?

And they bring them together, so the press can point out that some losers (like Johnny) are still Iraq War cheerleaders, while other losers (like Smith) are calling for a withdrawal  timetable?

What's next? Statements by the RSCC that re-electing one of these four losers would show real momentum, and re-electing two of the losers would be a dramatic victory?

On that second point: (4.00 / 3)
Pairing John E. with the others is a real disservice to them.

No offense to the hard work being done by others in Oregon and Maine, e.g., but our Senator in NH is definitely the odd man out in this quartet.

Another angle: when Sununu bashes all the "out-of-state" liberal money that will come into this race, do we get to bring up this loserpalooza tour over and over for balance?

Loserpalooza! Great. n/t (4.00 / 1)

30 events... (4.00 / 1)
...we need to somehow get some Loserpalooza 2007 T-Shirts made up. You've got the front graphic in the diary. The back would be a list of cities.

Get a beshirted Kossack or two at each event...

[ Parent ]
Would they have to buy tickets? (0.00 / 0)
I'd hate to actually FUND the loozerpalooza tour...

[ Parent ]
Seriously, though... (4.00 / 1)
...this could be the start of a really fun fundraising idea of our own.

Blue Hampshire and the other local blogs affected could virtually bird-dog the events with our own Loserpalooza blograisers, replete with Elwood's T-shirt idea.

Let me think on this...

[ Parent ]
I see them as a tribute band (4.00 / 1)
The CASH Tour.

Johnny singing, to George:

You keep a close watch on this vote of mine
You keep your eyes wide open all the time
Because you mind,
I walk the line

Senator Collins:

I tell you,
Life ain't easy for a girl named Sue!
And if someday I have a girl, I'm gonna name her...
Olympia! or Hillary! Anything but Sue!
