The Reality of the Health Care Dilemma

by: peacekeeper

Thu Oct 08, 2009 at 14:44:27 PM EDT

Earlier this week, a high school friend suffered a brain aneurysm. He has been through multiple brain surgeries, all successful, and we have every reason to hope for a full recovery. Thank God.

Unfortunately, Jesse didn't have health insurance. Jesse is 22, not in school, and therefore not covered by his Parent's insurance. Jesse is 22, and while he is working on recovering from massive bleeding in his brain and multiple intense brain surgeries, he has to worry about millions in health care debt.

These kinds of tragedies are taking place everyday all around this country. I, for one, am through with listening to bullshit reasons why the Democrats in Congress are not fighting for a public option. Nothing else will suffice.

If you're around the Keene area, please keep your eye out for donation cups in local businesses to put towards Jesse's health bills

There's at least a Band-Aid coming in NH (4.00 / 1)
This year the state passed a law allowing younger people to "buy in" to the Healthy Kids insurance program when they become ineligible for their parents' policy.

But the program isn't moving very fast.

Talk about Brain Injury ... (0.00 / 0)
HOW can a young man suffering from brain injury and multiple surgeries go to school or work to make money to pay outrageous over-inflated medical bills?  WAKE UP America ... what are you, BRAIN DEAD?  (geez ...)
