Resign, Senate President Reid!

by: Dean Barker

Mon Jan 11, 2010 at 18:33:50 PM EST

Jennifer Horn may be on sabbatical from Twitter, but her Facebook account is alive and kickin'.  Sent in from a reader:

Yes, Senate President Reid should resign!

If only because we already have a Senate President Biden, and a Senate President Pro Tempore Byrd.  One more might be bad form.

Should Jennifer Horn continue to run for Parliament? (4.00 / 9)

Oh boy. (0.00 / 0)
Not smart. . .

However, I doubt she honestly thinks Reid is Senate President.

This isn't half as stupid as the initial comment Reid made though.

True, because (0.00 / 0)
Reid was so indefensibly stoopid, that he spoke candidly to Mark Halperin.

[ Parent ]
It is fairly stupid (0.00 / 0)
Considering that Reid's proper title is in the link she is posting.

Such Drivel! (0.00 / 0)
So the Republicans jump all over this.
If Reid were racist he would not have supported Obama. The end.

Does Sarah Horn (or is it Jennifer Palin) now know there are two Koreas (in reality, Palin did not!!).

No'm Sayn?

Does anyone know (0.00 / 0)
the actual context of Sen. Reid's statement.  I think at best it was stupid to say it, but given his views and his support of Obama, I think at worst it was probably more evidence of being culturally and ethnically insulated and unaware than of being racist.  Furthermore, was Reid speaking for himself (unlikely) or being critical of the vast number of conservative (and liberal) Americans who would not vote for someone simply because of the things he mentioned?

I find the false equivalencies odd again (4.00 / 5)
Trent Lott: If only we'd elected segregationists, we wouldn't have all these problems.

Harry Reid: I thought Obama had a chance, because (unlike previous black candidates) he looked and spoke in a way that didn't make racist folks as uncomfortable.

Therefore: Lott = Reid

God. Too stupid for words. Too believe one thing, you have to be a racist. To believe the other, you have to believe racists exist. In a country with a functioning press that would be self-evident.

It really doesn't make any sense (0.00 / 0)
and I have been confused as to why people would compare the two. I think it's because Steele needed an excuse to call for Reid's resignation, and found the slightest opportunity by comparing him to Lott.

The scary part (0.00 / 0)
is that there are at least six people (I'm guessing more by now) who "like" this comment.  I have to wonder if they even read it, and if they did read it if they know the difference between the President of the Senate and the majority leader.  Since they support Horn, I'm guessing no.

Pindell asks,* (0.00 / 0)
'Ms.Horn, who is currently the Senate President and please describe, to the best of your ability, what his/her duties are in that role?'

*This, of course, happens in some future forum that occurs in my vivid imagination.
