Wow - what a fantastic election night for our side!
In Kentucky, The national Senate GOP establishment was embarrassed in Mitch McConnell's own home turf to an ungracious radical who is going to have a much harder time among the general electorate. And to top it off, the Democratic winner in that state is more progressive than his challenger.
Bad news for national Senate GOP establishment backed Kelly Ayotte. She's going to have to work even harder than she already is (is it possible?) pandering to the far right to win her primary.
In Pennsylvania, the NRCC couldn't scratch up a victory in a year with momentum supposedly being on their side, an open seat whose deceased incumbent battled corruption issues, and a swing district that was leaning their way. And it was a blowout for the Democratic candidate.
Bad news for Frank Guinta (or whoever the NRCC decides to switch to).
In Arkansas, DC backed Blanche Lincoln couldn't push away a run-off from the more progressive Bill Halter. In Pennsylvania, the definition of the long-serving, chameleon-like Washington Insider, was handed his political end.
Bad news for long-serving, chameleon-like Washington Insider Charlie Bass.
(And of course, also good news generally; suddenly, we have a better shot at picking up a seat in Kentucky than we did yesterday, our chances for holding Arkansas and Pennsylvania's senate seats improved, imo, and we have one less seat to worry about in the House.)
