Edwards Evening News RoundUp: Some Things are STILL Worth Fighting for!

by: jamess

Fri Jan 04, 2008 at 23:31:54 PM EST

Well that was quite the statement in Iowa!

Thanks to record turn out to the Iowa, the "Candidates of Change" got over two-thirds of the Votes!

According to the New York Times, nearly twice the Dems turned out this time:

Iowa's caucus also saw a record number of Democrats turn out - more than 239,000, compared with fewer than 125,0000 in 2004 - in a strong indication that opposition to President Bush has energized Democrats more than previously estimated.

If this is any indication of how ALL of America feels, maybe a Progressive Candidate, DOES have a Chance to Win the White House, maybe even with a Progressive Agenda?

We shall see ... by all accounts, this Fight is JUST getting started ...

Edwards Evening News Roundup: Happy News Year Edition!

by: cosbo

Wed Jan 02, 2008 at 02:44:36 AM EST

The sprint to the end had begun! We all know that Edwards is workaholic. He's worked very hard for this nomination. He came prepared with plans, ideas, goals and ATTITUDE. This dude knows how to fight. He has been outspent by millions and millions of dollars by two celebrity candidates and he's STILL in the race. That goes to a testament of how strong his message is and how much people are to take their country back. AGGRESSIVELY. He didn't come to the table as entrenched insider and he brought a lot more than something and flighty and wishy-washy than hope. He came prepped with the plans and the fight to actually give REAL hope to millions of Americans.

Edwards Evening News RoundUp: the Something Happened Edition

by: jamess

Sun Dec 30, 2007 at 00:49:05 AM EST

I've noticed a lot of grumblings around "the Internets" lately, about all these "partisan" Candidate Diaries -- hogging the limited real estate of the Recommended List.

Out of respect to that Audience, those who have had their fill of Candidate News,

Here's the Executive Summary:

"Stuff happened in the Edwards Campaign."

And for the Edwards supporters, out there in audience, those who may be expecting a "little more detail" about your Candidate, continue reading please ... well because "Something IS happening in the Edwards Campaign ..."

Edwards Evening News RoundUp: Why I'm with Edwards Edition

by: jamess

Sun Dec 23, 2007 at 01:15:33 AM EST

This edition of EENR will be a little different. I will be reporting the latest News on John Edwards of course, BUT with a focus on the WHY's behind the Edwards headlines.

Why are people supporting John Edwards, anyways?

Don't these people know that the National Polls and the Media already have scripted out how this Election is supposed to turn out?

Silly People, thinking they should actually be able to make up their own minds! Imagine that -- the People actually picking their own Leader! (And NOT having one Picked for them!)

So stick around for a spirited look at why more and more people are saying:

"Why I'm with Edwards" ...

Edwards Evening News RoundUp: Middle Class Rising

The Edwards campaign is picking up steam, and a lot of people are noticing, even some of the Media.  That Poll yesterday showing Edwards in the Lead in Iowa at 30%, certainly helped to get people talking. The Chris Matthews Interview with Edwards in New Hampshire was certainly a breath of fresh air too.

The race just got VERY interesting ...

Edwards Evening News RoundUp: Real Leaders take Stands

by: jamess

Sat Dec 08, 2007 at 22:10:55 PM EST

Our Country needs, Hope ... yes very much so.

Our Country also needs Competence in SO many Government Positions of power ... NO more 'Heck of Job -- Brownies' PLEASE!

But the one thing America needs even more than Hope and Competence -- it's Real Leadership!

What is Real Leadership made up of?

More Compromise and Committee meetings?  (I hope not)

Media Fanfare and soaring rhetoric?  (nice, but ...)

How about Honesty, How about taking a real Stand?

How about talking straight with the American People, and detailing all the 'Hard Work' and 'Sacrifice' that Real Change will ultimately require?

That's what Real Leaders do.

They tell you the Truth, and speaking the Truth eventually leads to widespread Action, and the Changes we need.

Once again John Edwards, has NOT failed to Lead on the Issues, so important to everyday Americans ...

Edwards Evening News RoundUp: the Restoring America Edition

by: jamess

Sat Dec 01, 2007 at 23:14:18 PM EST

John Edwards is a busy person lately. Speeches, Interviews, Endorsements, Policy Statements, Presidential Forums -- where does he find the energy!

Could it be he is driven to win? Could it be he knows America needs a Fighter in Washington who will speak for us the American People?

It is a Fight he's been waging all his life, in court rooms, against Corporate interests, and Winning for average folks like us. Now John Edwards is primed and ready to take on those same Corporate Interests in Washington DC, and Fight for OUR Interests again -- because "America Belongs to Us" the American People!

"America needs a president who will fight for the American people every day, not defend a broken system. America does not belong to corrupt Washington lobbyists or corporations - it belongs to us.

It's time we took our Country back! It's time to support John Edwards.

Edwards Evening News RoundUp: Thanksgiving Edition

by: jamess

Thu Nov 22, 2007 at 22:48:00 PM EST

First thing, first. Happy Thanksgiving to all! I hope it was truly a day of optimism and hope for each of you. This is certainly a time to review the good things we each have in life.

Times spent with Family, Friends, and Good Food, form the basic fabric we call Life and History. Individual Happiness is woven from such threads. And goodness knows, we could all use just a little more Happiness in life.

Since it is a "slow news" day in terms of campaign activities, I thought I'd take a retrospective look at of some of the many things John Edwards has said he is thankful for. Please take a few moments to reflect on these, and you may find you have similar "blessings" in your life, that you are thankful for, too.

Edwards Evening News: Saving Democracy Edition

by: sirius

Sat Oct 13, 2007 at 21:19:18 PM EDT

Is it just me, or does John Edwards sometimes remind anyone else of your typical superhero?  You know, fighting for the little guy, saving democracy, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound?  Well, OK, maybe not that last one, but the man is inspiring.

Today, John gave a speech in New Hampshire that was all about saving democracy.  After years of having politicians tell us that the best we can expect is incremental change within our broken system, it is quite astounding to hear someone actually tell the truth about what is wrong with our system, and propose major reforms to fix it. To me, having the courage to confront our big problems and offer real solutions makes John a real hero, despite the conspicuous lack of spandex in his wardrobe.
