Amy Goodman Arrested at RNC

by: susanthe

Mon Sep 01, 2008 at 23:15:50 PM EDT

Glenn Greenwald
is doing an excellent job covering the outrageous conduct of the police in Minneapolis.

Houses are being raided, protestors arrested, an Utne Reader intern was caught in a group being  teargassed - and this all seems to be preemptive jackbooted thuggery - aimed at media intimidation.

Perhaps most extraordinarily, Amy Goodman of Democracy Now -- the radio and TV broadcaster who has been a working journalist for close to 20 years -- was arrested on the street and charged with "conspiracy to riot.

huffpo

Apparently Goodman has been released, but the two Democracy Now producers Sharif Abdel Kouddous and Nicole Salazar are still being held by the police.

This is an outrage.

Lynch's cuts: Where's the outrage?

[Entire diary deleted. The author had cut-and-pasted a Union Leader editorial without attribution or link. This was both plagiarism and copyright violation. - elwood]
