Revere America

Guinta-Pataki Scandal Convergence

by: Dean Barker

Mon Oct 11, 2010 at 15:21:03 PM EDT

So Pindell learned that the NHDP are filing an FEC complaint against Revere America for illegal coordination with Guinta:
"The advertisements purchased and run by Revere America constitute impermissible coordinated communications. Because Jamestown Associates effectively served as media consultant and buyer to both the Guinta campaign and Revere America, Jamestown Associates was in a unique position to be able to coordinate the Revere America advertisements with the Guinta campaign's own media strategy. Jamestown Associates used Magnolia Media, the inactive shell entity whose President and sole officer is the Media Buyer for Jamestown Associates, only to make the relationship between Revere America and Jamestown Associates appear further attenuated than it actually is."
If it's this bad now, how ashamed will New Hampshire be with a Congressman Guinta?

FactCheck Destroys POTUS Wannabe Pataki's Smear Ads

by: Dean Barker

Thu Oct 07, 2010 at 19:11:08 PM EDT

Remember POTUS wannabe George Pataki's sloppy ad against Annie Kuster (and also Carol Shea-Porter)?  Fact Check took a look at them today and demolished its bogus claims:
The ad makes several false and unsubstantiated claims:

   * It claims that the law creates "longer waits in doctors' offices" and that "your right to keep your own doctor may be taken away." The group says those claims are about a Medicare payment program that the law calls for establishing. But it points to an opinion piece that doesn't make those claims at all. The author tells us it's "bogus" to cite his article as support for the ad.

   * The ad falsely calls the health care law "government-run health care." The truth is that - while the legislation will expand regulation of the insurance industry - it builds on our current private health care system and expands business for private insurers.

   * The ad claims "costs will go up," when, in fact, premium costs for most Americans are predicted to stay the same or decrease slightly from where they normally would be. And for many others, federal subsidies will offset premium increases.

But read the whole thing - it's a takedown of epic proportions.

Of course, the sad thing is that most people will see these ads, yet never know they are full of lies. Let's make sure we remind Pataki of this when he comes a-knockin' on our primary doors.

Basic Grammar Escapes POTUS Wannabe Pataki

by: Dean Barker

Tue Oct 05, 2010 at 22:54:23 PM EDT

C'mon George.  If you're going to take barrels of unnamed dollars from your copycat post-Citizens United shadow group and dump them into cookie cutter ads in the vain hope that prominent NH GOPers will endorse you for POTUS next cycle, at least take the time to proofread:
The is the First-in-the-Nation Primary state, George. You're gonna have to do better than that.
