Simple Answers to Simple Questions

Could Palin survive a New Hampshire drubbing in '12?

While I do appreciate how viral and national the news is of what a drag Palin is on a ticket in New Hampshire, there is a simple answer to that question.

Sure, she'll probably get creamed here by Romney.  But that didn't stop an equally incompetent and pernicious former governor from winning the White House and ruining the country.

UPDATE: Haha - I swear I did not see this new PPP poll on NH-Primary 2012 before posting:

Romney leads the way with 31% to 14% for Newt Gingrich, 13% for Paul, 12% for Huckabee, 9% for Palin, 3% for Tim Pawlenty, and 1% for Mitch Daniels.

You're missing the best part of Palin's 3% (0.00 / 0)
PPP surveyed 415 Republican voters in New Hampshire from July 23-25, 2010. The survey's margin of error is +/-4.81%. Other factors, such as refusal to be interviewed and weighting, may introduce additional error that is more difficult to quantify.

Palin has 9% (4.00 / 3)
It's Pawlenty's support that might actually be negative*.  (I recall a similar result for black voter's approval rating of Dick Cheney.)

*As a card-carrying mathematician, I am obligated to point out that this is not actually true.

You're right, my mistake, I made a skimming error. (0.00 / 0)
I'll just point out, on more careful examination, that Palin's 9% is lower than the 11% for "undecided". And even if all the undecideds went for her and the rest stayed the same, she'd still lose to Romney. By 11 points.

That is pretty impressive! (0.00 / 0)
Romney, like McCain, seems to have some actual support among NH Republicans.  Palin, not so much.

unsupportable charges... (4.00 / 3)
Getting away with murder in Texas is easier than believing this comment dear diarist..."an equally incompetent and pernicious former governor".
I am flummoxed. Is Sarah worse than Dubya, or better? Was Reagan worse than Nixon? Palin is more Nixon, in that we as a country can see what a disaster she's going to be ahead of the disaster. Dubya was more like Reagan on his first run where he spread that manure real thick and even got the Teamsters support for the first time ever- he was the one who was going to restore Amurican pride and get us back on top from Carter's malaise. Then he got in and broke PATCO.

I'm jes sayin she can't be any worse than Dubya, #1, beacuse its easier to see she is a total wackjob...he had been a strong weak Governor of Texas with a Railroad Commission and a  Democratic Majority, but was known as an able compromiser who wanted to succeed, because he needed to get things done...and was beloved of the Hispanic Community, because he actually stayed over night once in El Paso...I am saying that a Palin would be easier to beat than a Dubya. So she's &*#!? better?!@? I am still flummoxed.

Duly noted, and 4-ed. (4.00 / 1)
If I had to discern between W. and Palin it would be the former Connecticut Cowboy knew how to be a good puppet for the Cheneys that ran the show, while she actually believes the crazy she says.

She absolutely would be worse than W. (4.00 / 1)
And Reagan was worse than Nixon.

Bush is smarter than that (4.00 / 1)
And for better or for worse, he let his handlers handle him when he needed to.

Her incompetence and lack of self-awareness make Bush look like Clinton.

Sarah is a great entertainer (4.00 / 1)
(however,  not MY cup of tea!), but I would not want her or her hangers-on to get their hands on my government!  I don't know if Kelly's campaign manager or Kelly solicited Sarah's endorsement, or if they are saying rude things to themselves over this.
I can see Sarah deciding to endorse someone without even asking them, because she is really in it for the money, and needs some new material for her act on a regular basis.
Not making any excuses for Kelly, she is not in the mainstream of NH at all, even without the endorsement.  I just thought it would be a cool joke if she got pwned.

I think Kelly wanted the Palin endorsement (0.00 / 0)
Binnie scared her into it.  She's looking for every last primary advantage, even at the expense of general election baggage.

My two cents. . . .
