"Prosecutors are always studiously careful to refrain from making any comment on these cases or their positions on them,'' Volinsky said.

"Now that these e-mails are out in the public domain, I'd be amazed if the public defender's office doesn't try to use them in their appeals in this case.''

Kathy has more.

This is an epic fail of the highest order regardless of your opinion on capital punishment.

Kelly Ayotte could end up being responsible for the overturning of a conviction of the murderer of a police officer.

not to mention 'the cost of failure' (0.00 / 0)
How much will a failed prosecution cost the state's citizens?

Annie 2012!

Well, we know (0.00 / 0)
what Republicans think is worth spending money on after the last decade, don't we?  I do think maybe some "nation building" on THIS nation might be in order now, don't you?  But instead we are spending on building Republican attack ads and companies overseas who boast of their expertise in "outsourcing jobs" that used to make and keep the American middle class the driver of our economy.
Now we want the top 1% to keep the economy going, and if they don't, it is "obvious" that we just haven't given them enough of an incentive.  Unfortunately, they too can see that the lack of demand driven by middle class consumption, which ended up being fueled only by a housing bubble, makes investing in growth in the US a losing proposition.  Better to invest in the countries we have sent the jobs to, they have a growing middle class of consumers, growing because of outsourced jobs.

More on "the cost of failure" (4.00 / 1)
My comment in Has Kelly Ayotte Jeopardized the Death Penalty, found here is relevant to this diary too.
