It's Time for John Stephen to Make More Donuts

by: Dean Barker

Mon Oct 18, 2010 at 19:13:02 PM EDT

After all that bluff and bluster, after all those misleading ads from hate groups, and even with a typically pro-GOP UNH sample, Johnny Stephen is still turning out to be (.pdf) 2010's version of... what was that fellow's name again?
John Lynch:    51%
John Stephen    37%
Undecided:    9%
Other:    3%

709 respondents, 10/7-10/12, MoE +/-3.7

Is it mixing metaphors to stick a fork in a donut?

Oh, and: thanks to the careful stewardship of John Lynch and the Democratic majorities in House and Senate during this Great Recession, New Hampshire saw its unemployment drop yet again last month to 5.5%, among the lowest rates in the nation (release below the fold).

UPDATE: Be sure to read RealNRH's Cloud-to-New Hampshire adjustment on this as well.

Gov. John Lynch Statement on Drop In Unemployment Rate

NH Unemployment Rate Dropped from 5.7 Percent in August to 5.5 Percent in September

CONCORD - Gov. John Lynch today issued the following statement regarding the drop in the state's unemployment rate:

"The continuing drop in unemployment is good news for New Hampshire and is further evidence that we are on the right track to economic recovery. In fact, just last week two major economic development projects were announced that will result in the creation of 1,700 new jobs.

"We have a winning economic strategy in place, which is why it is so important that we continue to build on the progress we have made. Companies, like Albany International, are coming to New Hampshire because we have an educated and skilled workforce, and are one of the most business-friendly states in the nation, according to the Tax Foundation.

"New Hampshire is stronger economically than many other states, but we must recognize that there are many people still looking for work. We will continue our efforts to make smart investments in our economy, to connect businesses looking to hire with people seeking jobs, and getting more of our people back to work."

Stephen has peaked (4.00 / 1)
From here on out, the numbers will get worse for Johnny. The out of state ads will be pulled, the Union Leader will run out of front page stories about sb 500, and when people watch the MUR debate next week Stephen's lack of understanding of the issues will be apparent. Also, in addition to being the better candidate, the Governor has a much better campaign.

The Same 37%? (0.00 / 0)
Funny, that's the same percentage Christine O'Donnell has in Delaware.

Who are these 37%?

No'm Sayn?

note to close readers: this might be sarcastic so think twice before reading to candidates for use in their attacks on each other

It's somewhat reassuring (4.00 / 1)
That after literally millions of dollars from out-of-state groups saying Lynch wants to force you to gay-marry, and after Drew Cline cashed in whatever dignity he has left (yes, I imagine him digging deep into his pockets to find some last dignity, and coming up with primarily kleenex and pocket lint) -- after Drew decided to write a novel-length series on how John Lynch's adoption of a parole system that allows more oversight of offenders and better transition outcomes will cause the rape and possible murder of your nine-year-old daughter -- after all of this, and in the throes of the greatest depression since the great depression --- they still can't unseat Lynch with this nonsense.

Barnum said he never lost money betting against the intelligence of the public. The republicans just lost a ton.
