Jynifur Dawnawho up to her monkey business again

by: Ray Buckley

Wed Jun 17, 2009 at 11:36:53 AM EDT

(I'm sure Paul is quaking to run against the person who brought Parental Notification the the Supreme Court and embarrassed our state by meddling in California's Constitution. Promoted by Mike Hayfor - promoted by Mike Hoefer)

Seriously? Does the Huffington Post actually give Jennifer Donahue money to write such stuff?

If Ayotte Runs in NH, It's a Sign Democrats Have Electoral Problems Holding Senate/House Seats in 2010

New Hampshire in 2010 is very much in play from Senate to dog-catcher, and that could present a challenge for Democrats in 2010 if other states follow suit- which they often do. I'm not saying 2010 could be Obama's 2006, where that many seats go to the other party. But I am saying Democrats could lose enough important seats to tip the balance of power if they don't see it coming.

Yesterday, NBC's Chuck Todd accurately reported on the move to draft New Hampshire Attorney General Kelly Ayotte (Republican appointed by Democratic Governor John Lynch after Republican Gov. Craig Benson). Ayotte would be a dream candidate for the GOP in NH, which has seen every GOP seta since 2006 in play fro grom Republican to Democrat (former Sen. Sununu now Sen. Shaheen, former Rep. Bradley now Rep. Shea-Porter, Former Rep. Bass now Rep. Rep. Paul Hodes.)

But the good stuff comes later...

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/...

Not only does Jennifer confuse presidential primary voting with NH general election voting (see front runner comment) she make several wild statements. She still refuses to accept that Gregg isn't running. She claims Ayotte has "a large base" and "crossover appeal". A base of what? Her name recognition is negligible, she has never held or sought public office. What is her crossover appeal? Her postion on social issues? Huh? Ms. Donahue's dismissal of Congresswoman Shea-Porter's base and popularity is ridiculous. Ms. Donahue continues to refuse to grasp the demographic changes going on in NH. She and Rip Van Sununu make quite a pair! Ms. Donahue also claims that Charlie Bass is a candidate for congress, who told her that?

But the real kicker, the real proof of Ms. Donahue's complete lack of credibility is the misspelling of both McLane (McClane) and Fernald (Furnald). Mark Fernald was a two term state senator, two time candidate for governor. But Ms. Donahue doesn't know how to spell his last name?Ann McLane Kuster is not only a prominent public figure in her own right, her great grandfather was Governor of NH, her father was mayor of Concord, a candidate for governor and for many years a member of the NH executive council and her mother served prominently for nearly 30 years in the NH House and Senate and was a candidate for congress herself. I'm surprised she didn't refer to Kathy Sweat and Joe DaJoy.

Dartmouth (0.00 / 0)
The McLane family has been extremely generous to Dartmouth, both in grants to the college as well as in scholarship support for students.

Democrats are by definition not important people, so there's nothing (0.00 / 0)
to be gained by knowing who they are and what they do.  Indeed, the errors you point out send the message that providing publicity for Democrats is pro forma and shouldn't be held against the author.

Might as well be a researcher in the tropics. Who cares whether the investigator gets the savages' names right?

Her idiocy is frustrating (0.00 / 0)
The points you made, especially confusing a midterm with a primary, would be frustrating coming from anyone, but from a "pundit" they are unacceptable. Has she even read polls showing how popular Obama is and how few people, including Republicans, can identify a leader or party platform? We shouldn't become complacent or expect an easy victory, but we also shouldn't let someone drum up an imagined rising right-wing tide.

Kelly "Death's head" Ayotte (0.00 / 0)
So-called for her embracement and aggressive use of New Hampshire's narrowly applied death penalty...You heard it here first.

Paraphrased (4.00 / 6)
WMUR is on the beat!  Top notch, top notch!  I hear a Murrow knocking at the door.

http://www.wmur.com/politics/1...

In New Hampshire's congressional races, Republican Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta has announced a run against Democratic U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter.

Hodes' Senate race would leave his House seat open, and Democrats Annie McClane Kuster, Katrina Swett and Mark Furnold have announced their campaigns. Hodes defeated former Republican Rep. Charles Bass, who is considering a run for his old seat.

And from Gennipher Dhonehugh:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/...

As for the Congressional races, Mayor Frank Guinta of Manchester appears to be the one to run against Rep. Carol Shea-Porter. She has been vulnerable since she upset 2006 Primary opponent Jim Craig and won her seat then ousted Rep. Jeb Bradley (now a State Senator after losing his rematch to Porter in 2008). So that one is an unclear outcome.

In CD 2, a crowded Democratic field with Annie McClane Kuster, Katrina Swett, and Mark Furnold should not be any comfort to former Rep. Charlie Bass as he tries to win back his seat.

Tiepohz (4.00 / 1)
Glad you grabbed the text. The HuffPost slobber has been adjusted, but the WMUR (Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V) piece is still as regurgitated.

Outstanding catch. (4.00 / 2)
Incredibly bad punditry meets the stenographer press.

And so a meme is carried.

Ah Ha! A clever HuffPo trap (4.00 / 3)
to catch WMUR in a blatant copyright violation!

The NH Attorney General should prosecute!

I started reading J-Do's column, and about a paragraph into it thought to myself, "you know, you'll never get this moment of your life back," and abruptly stopped.

President, NH Young Democrats

Ayotte's best bet would be with the other party (0.00 / 0)
Actually, if Kelly Ayotte wants to run for elective office in 2010, her best bet would be as a Democrat for the CD-2 US House seat. (She lives in Nashua, which is in the 2nd CD.)  The Democrats are much better organized than the Republicans, and have somewhat more money: it would be foolish to run as a Republican if you have allies in the other party.  She does have some allies on the Democratic side of the aisle, starting with Gov. Lynch. (And if elected, she would be a member of the majority in DC, which makes a huge difference in how effective you can be.)

She would have to explain away her anti-choice litigation during the Planned Parenthood vs. Ayotte case, which made it all the way to the Supreme Court.  But she is good at explaining things away and probably would be a formidable candidate.  Although she is not as well known as Ms Dunaghwhoo of the huffPost thinks, she is much better known than the other House candidates who have stepped forward.

Or, if Lynch gets fed up with being Governor, she could run for Governor.

Oh, please. (4.00 / 1)
She is a Benson appointee with a strong record against reproductive rights and gay rights. She would NEVER, NEVER, EVER win a Dem primary in NH.

(Or rather, NEVER in the present or future. Circa 1972 she might.)

[ Parent ]
Got with it (0.00 / 0)
The further we drag her to the left, the more unpalatable she will be for the purists of the NHGOP.

If I where Lynch, and wanted to thwart Ayotte's chances, I would become her BFF.

Hmmm....that might not work. Though the GOoPers are usually pretty good on message discipline, they are rarely consistent. Going from Lynch is a spend-a-holic to Ayotte's bipartisan cred is legitimized by Lynch's "endorsement" isn't much of a stretch for the logically challenged.

www.KusterforCongress.com

[ Parent ]
There is NO WAY to drag her to the Left. (0.00 / 0)
And any claim to bipartisan cred she has - which is minimal - evaporates if she runs for anything.

[ Parent ]
oh I dunno: (0.00 / 0)
She did keep silent during the gay marriage debate... unlike the Governor.  Regardless of which party's banner she runs under, that's not a winning issue for her: most Granite Staters do favor equality.  (Even the most vile opponents of marriage equality approached the issue obliquely, by raising trumped-up technical concerns and/or by claiming that civil unions were good enough and/or by making false historical generalizations.)  The abortion issue would be a huge problem.  She could certainly get 26% or more of a 4-way primary fight.  I hope she doesn't, but she could.

The Republicans have been actively avoiding primary fights--- which is killing them (luckily) in CD-1 since Frank Guinta (who has the brains of a turnip) has already been anointed as the nominee.  I am not saying Carol Shea-Porter is a shoo-on, but I am saying that if she loses her seat it won't be because Guinta outsmarted or outdebated her.

[ Parent ]
You maybe weren't paying attention. (4.00 / 1)
She intervened in the California case, claiming CA gay marriage would be a problem for NH, until someone pointed out NH law to her.

Didn't you get the WMUR memo? (4.00 / 3)
She's a "moderate" Republican, according to their copying of Donahue report on the Todd report.

So it must be true!
