It's profitable to go to the Village and not be endorsed by Big John Cornyn and the NRSC!
As was first reported on this site, Ayotte will attend a fund-raiser at the National Republican Senatorial Committee on Sept. 22. Now it is learned she will attend two other fund-raisers that day. One is a lunch at Charlie Palmers Steak House and and the other is hosted by Rick Murphy, a lobbyist and former Judd Gregg staffer.
And no, Virtual NHGOP Chair Judd Gregg isn't the puppetmaster behind the Kelly Ayotte campaign at all. Not a bit.
At the beginning, I figured the folks at the Grok were just upset that Ayotte wasn't to the right enough for their tastes. But this is becoming ridiculous. The story now is not whether Ayotte is conservative enough for New Hampshire Republicans. It's whether there's any real interest at Team Ayotte in getting New Hampshire Republicans on board or not, given the presumptive nominee stance the national GOP has taken on her.
This continuing storyline gives Ovide Lamontagne a real opening. And Charlie Bass, too, if he wanted it.
