Maybe Jeff Zeleny Can Find Out

by: Dean Barker

I was wondering.

Carol Shea-Porter has held eleven town halls in the past five months, in Manchester, Epping, North Conway, Bedford, Merrimack, Alton, Laconia, Ossipee, Londonderry, Hampton, and Northwood.

Now, I think it's pretty obvious that Judd Gregg hasn't even come close to that many this year. So it's not much fun comparing her total to AWOL Judd, unless of course you are comparing her town halls to his visits to FOX News.

So let's up the ante.  Is Carol's town hall total since January greater than the rest of the federal delegation combined?

But then I realized; I'm just a blogger.  That's the kind of research you really need a reporter for.

Maybe Jeff Zeleny can find out.

Do you remember when we were first covering Charlie Bass in 2006 (4.00 / 3)
And we were desperate for any event. He literally had no open events at all -- all closed events or below the radar appearances organized by town committees. We used to joke it was like playing Where's Waldo, except without Waldo being in the picture.

Actually -- courtesy of the tubes, check this out -- our first sighting of Bass in the season (where we knew where he was going to be in advance) was MID-AUGUST:

And we only found out about that b/c some republican was stupid enough to write a letter revealing Charlie's undisclosed location.

My guess is that CSP ran more town hall events in the past five months than Bass had in all of 2004-2006.

Yes but, the standards are different. (0.00 / 0)
Republicans represent the ruling class and dispense instructions to the people.  Democrats represent the people and carry out their instructions.  When directives are being passed out from the top, it's better that the occasions be few in number.

As I recall them, the messages from Bradley were "sit down, shut up and listen."  Failing to follow those directives was considered disruptive.
