Why We Need To Support Pro-Equality Dems

by: PaulHodes

( - promoted by Dean Barker)

Over the past six months, my opponents have constantly reminded me of how crucial this race is. Whether it's a woman's right to choose or a family's right to affordable health care - they've shown us time and time again what we all stand to lose if Kelly Ayotte, Bill Binnie, or Ovide Lamontagne wins.

I wanted to be sure to share this one with you - last week, just one day after she said it would be a "big mistake" to take drilling in New England "off the table," Kelly Ayotte was asked for her opinion on marriage equality and the Defense of Marriage Act at a local Republican debate.

Take a minute and listen to her reply for yourself.

PaulHodes :: Why We Need To Support Pro-Equality Dems
Thousands and thousands of Granite Staters fought tirelessly to make marriage equality a reality here. For me, for this online community and for the majority of the Granite State, it was an extraordinary moment in New Hampshire's history when our state legislature courageously passed a marriage equality bill into law last year. But for Kelly Ayotte, that historic achievement was "disappointing." She wants to repeal the law and take our state and our country backwards. She also promised to always vote to uphold DOMA if she makes it to the US Senate.

I need your help to win in November and make sure Kelly Ayotte never has a chance to cast that vote.

The Stonewall Democrats are trying to determine which candidates to help this election cycle. I'm one of 30 that they've identified as deserving of their support, but they have limited resources to spend on just a few races across the country.

Please take just a moment and visit their site to vote for our campaign.

New Hampshire has always been a strong and independent defender of equal rights and individual freedom - and that's exactly the type of leadership I'm going to take with me to the U.S. Senate.

The stakes are simply too high - we need to do everything we can to fight for universal marriage equality and to finally, fully repeal the Defense of Marriage Act.

Will you vote today? And as always, please visit my website www.paulhodesforsenate.com for more ways to get involved in the campaign.

And, as always, thank you so much for all you do!

Thank you Congressman n/t (0.00 / 0)

2012 starts today.

Kelly Ayotte (0.00 / 0)
Kelly Ayotte will say anything to get another right-wing vote; however, each time she comes out with one of her absurdities, she just shows what a lousy senator she'd be.  Her explanation about where the buck stops this week will go down in history as an outrageous excuse for the ineffectual performance she provided as the AG of NH.  She didn't have time to look at the case that cost many their life savings because she was too busy making a name for herself in conservative circles opposing Planned Parenthood and fighting for the death penalty in the Addison case.

Today, our senators zero each other out with each vote cast.  We need strong progressive voices, and I for one, think Paul Hodes will give us that second voice we so desperately want.

Thank you Paul. (0.00 / 0)
I like voting!

for transparency sake ~I represent Union print shops

I'm not looking for a "defender" of equal rights. (0.00 / 0)
I'm looking for a public servant who is ready to provide equal treatment and respect human rights, including the right to sustenance, privacy and the integrity of the person.
I'm not looking for a fighter.  I'm looking for someone to make peace, not war.

But mostly, I'd like somebody to explain who got the $4.8 TRILLION dollars the federal government spent on flood insurance from 2000 through the first half of 2008. Compared to that, the $20 Billion being talked about from BP is chicken feed.

That's why we need you in the Senate! (4.00 / 1)
Thank you.

It was great seeing Peggo and you at the Stonewall celebration!
