In other campaign news.... (4.00 / 2)
Yesterday, 2nd CD congressional candidate Bob Guida issued this statement in response to the endorsement of his Republican primary opponent Jennifer Horn by the Cornerstone PAC:

The Giuda Campaign is somewhat amused by Cornerstone's endorsement of Jennifer Horn.

The rest of New Hampshire is somewhat amused by the Guida Campaign.

He's deader than the day before (0.00 / 0)
Landrigan:

The biggest loser here was clearly former Warren Republican State Rep. Robert Giuda who rose to leadership ranks in the NH House and has a right-wing voting record to back it up.

Trailing badly in polls and cash on hand, Giuda needs an echo chamber for his candidacy more than anyone in this race from any party.

"Don't fret over what a 'Mama Grizzly' from Alaska does." (4.00 / 3)
From Taegan Goddard:

Palin Ripped in Front Page Editorial

The publisher of the New Hampshire Union Leader blasts Sarah Palin's endorsement of Kelly Ayote (R) in the state's U.S. Senate race.

"Palin isn't making these endorsements because, as she claims, she has spent time in New Hampshire and thus knows that the people here are a lot like Alaskans. She spent a few hours here on one day during the 2008 Presidential election. That's still more time than she spent getting to know Ayotte, but it takes quite a bit longer to know New Hampshire... Don't fret over what a 'Mama Grizzly' from Alaska does. Right now, Granite Staters have more to worry about in keeping bears away from bird feeders."

I bet Palin knows Ayotte about as well as she knows what part of the country New Hampshire is in.

Swett's PR up (0.00 / 0)
I like this line:
We know she's proud of some of her paid lobbying jobs, but which ones does she regret?" Swett campaign boss Coffman concluded.

Yikes! They must be feeling the heat in Bow. I'm going to guess that Ms. Coffman has a list of suggestions. We have already been privy to one.

This will be a drip strategy on Swett's part.

What does the Magic 8-ball say?

Jack, as you well know, I am privy to neither the Swett Campaign's research nor strategy.  I know less than you about what is going on, as I don't even have Pindell access.

Now I will get back to work.  I have as much stomach for another one of these discussions as I do a trip to the dentist.

I know you are not privy, but you do have a sixth sense about these sorts of things.

"It is disappointing that Katrina Swett is trying to mislead voters about her opponent rather than talk about the issues," Sroka began.

"Annie has never worked as a Washington lobbyist at all. On the state level, she helped businesses and nonprofits work with legislators on projects like helping create the Medication Bridge program, which has distributed free prescription drugs to over 16,000 seniors in need.  Instead of trying to distort this record to further her own campaign, Katrina Swett should stick to the issues - like why she supported Bush's tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans, the Iraq war, the escalation in Afghanistan, and restrictions on a woman's right to choose."

As a neutral observer in the NH-02 primary, I think it needs to be said that this community contributed to an escalation of hostilities between Democratic candidates in the past few days, hostilities that started between supporters and have spilled out into the media and now to direct jabs between campaigns.

There is a real slippery slope in this situation, and it has the potential to damage our ability, as Democrats, to hold onto that seat.

Let it go. At least in public.

Once again, let's not do this like it's Pennsylvania '08. This isn't '08 and we only have two months to heal the divide after the primary.

This forum is people talking. These ideas need to flow. Sometimes it gets messy. Should we rely on MSM and political shepherds to wag the dog?

Flow of ideas is good. (4.00 / 2)
So is collaborating on progressive causes.  99% of the time I think this place is productive.

But when online flame wars affect the tenor of a Democratic primary, you have to remember what we're doing here.

Don't let this be the source of dirt to throw at whichever candidate gets nominated.

A few years ago... (4.00 / 4)
A few years ago I was invited to go with a friend to a Holiday Party in Concord that consisted of many of their friends.

It was just a month after NH Democrats had lost a close US Senate race.

Everybody at the party actively supported the losing primary candidate in a bitter campaign.

At some point after much drink someone loudly bragged they did not vote for the nominee in the General Election. Within a few minutes of other such comments, I realized I was the only one of the thirty plus attending the party who did vote for the nominee.

It would be a shame if that happened this year and Charlie Bass was returned to DC to continue the damage he has already done to America's families.

2012 starts today.

[ Parent ]
Tell you what (0.00 / 0)
Use vote builder to ID those that go to the Primary but don't go to the General. You can tag them as "shitheads." Send 'em a Unity mailer.

But I get your drift.

Oh, are you leaning Bass? Granite Grok just endorsed Horn. And Cornerstone, too. She has wind in her sails, now!
