Wayne Wiggin, a gas station attendant in town and registered Republican, said he didn't vote for Shea-Porter in 2006 or 2008 and doesn't plan to this year. He said he opposes the stimulus package and health care reform law.

"I can't afford to have her and her buddies running the show all the time," Wiggin said. "It's costing me too much money."

Wiggin said nothing has actually changed in his personal finances but "you can see it coming."

Meanwhile, even some leaning in Carol's direction think she voted for the bank bailout, according to the Monitor piece.

Our media, and the citizenry's relationship to it, is largely broken.

Our media, along with much else, (0.00 / 0)
is broken.  It is just amazing how much can be destroyed when you let a few people get very rich.  That's been the big change since the heyday of the middle class in America, 1950-1970 or so.
It could be fixed, if we are allowed to do it, but it is a monumental task.  My greatest fear is that another 2 years of Republican destruction might take us past a tipping point and destroy this great experiment.  I would hate to see that for my children and grandchildren, never mind me and my husband in our "golden years."
And fixing the media is one of the primary tasks on the agenda, because the free press is no more, it's been bought to a great extent.  The founders knew the importance of it and would be appalled at what has happened.
I don't know how to do anything else but keep on truckin'.  There is something inside that just won't let me give up!

I'm not sure it ever worked (0.00 / 0)
But there's some evidence that it's getting worse.

Back to G'ing O the V ...
