Tax cap crackpot Tammy Simmons, elected last fall as part of O'Brien's tea party caucus, reminds us of why people shouldn't take the GOP seriously when it comes to cutting spending - they want everyone else's services cut but their own.
Yesterday's Union-Leader features the following insights.
"Tax cap proponent Tammy Simmons... along with about six others, asked the aldermen to keep the West Side Library Branch open. Gatsas' budget calls for closing the branch to save the city $250,000."
As a Manchester homeowner, I hope Ted decides to do the sane thing and increase taxes so that we can continue to fully staff schools and keep the Westside library open (I don't live on the West Side, btw). Tammy Simmons's tax-capping, state budget slashing lunacy can only lead to one thing - a lower quality of life for everyone in Manchester, including fewer libraries.
