John McCains bad luck with lobbyists

by: Paul Twomey

Sat May 10, 2008 at 22:29:41 PM EDT

(Oh, the tangled web we McWeave. - promoted by Dean Barker)

John McCains handpicked choice to chair the Republican National Convention, Doug Goodyear, had to resign after a Newsweek story pointed out that his firm, DCI, had been a registered agent for the Burmese dictatorship. DCI is of course the republican media and pr firm that took Jim Tobin under its wing when he was outed for his involvement in the Phone Jamming and had to leave his post as Northeast Regional Chair of Bush/Cheney 04.

McCain had previously hired Terry Nelson as a senior adviser. Nelson was Jim Tobin's boss at the Republican National Committee when Tobin took part in the phone jamming. Nelson was named in Tom Delay's indictment as person at the Republican National Committee handled the illegal funds. Nelson also was responsible for the racist ads against Harold Ford in Tennessee. Nelson is a business associate of Lacivita, who produced the Swift Boats ads in 2004. And to take us full circle, LaCivita testified in a deposition in the phone jamming that he is a paid consultant for DCI.

Where is NH now? Rasmussen says for Obama far better vs McCain

by: Paul Twomey

Fri Feb 15, 2008 at 00:03:21 AM EST

(Wow - maybe McMaverick's all but assured nomination doesn't mean much for "swing state" NH after all. - promoted by Dean Barker)

A new poll released today by Rasmussen shows that Barack Obama is by a wide margin a stronger candidate against John McCain in New Hampshire.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone poll shows Clinton leading McCain 43% to 41% in New Hampshire. At the same time, Obama leads McCain 49% to 36%. National polling, updated daily, currently shows the same general trend with Obama performing better than Clinton in match-ups with McCain.

In the national daily tracking polls described above, Obama has surged to a double digit lead among all voters and a five point lead among women.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows Barack Obama opening a double-digit lead over Hillary Clinton in the race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination. Today's results show Obama earning support from 49% of Likely Democratic Primary Voters while Clinton attracts 37% (see recent daily numbers). Perhaps the most stunning aspect of the Obama surge is that he now leads 46% to 41% among women.

Hillary's favorite presidents---oops, Ron Reagan!

by: Paul Twomey

Fri Jan 18, 2008 at 21:20:14 PM EST

So when Barack Obama simply notes the indisputable fact that Reagan changed the trajectory of American political life, he is mercilessly attacked for something he didnt do-- say he liked anything about the changes Reagan instituted.
But have any of the Democrats expressed admiration for Prince Ronald? Well , accordingly to a diary on dailykos, http://www.hillaryclinton.com/... Clinton for one. On her web site, a endorsement trumpeted by the Clinton campaign says:

But no president can do it alone. She must break recent tradition, cast cronyism aside and fill her cabinet with the best people, not only the best Democrats, but the best Republicans as well.. We're confident she will do that. Her list of favorite presidents - Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Lincoln, both Roosevelts, Truman, George H.W. Bush and Reagan - demonstrates how she thinks.

http://www.hillaryclinton.com/...

So my question is: will all the posters here  who assailed Obama for something he didnt say care  to comment on someone who did say it?

Obama Leads in Iowa! WaPo/ABC poll

by: Paul Twomey

Fri Aug 03, 2007 at 11:52:06 AM EDT

Well if I werent an Obama Spinner, I might have said it was a three way tie, but the results are: Obama 27%, Edwards 26%, and Clinton 26%. Obama also "most honest and trustworthy" "most like you on the issues" and tied with Edwards for most likable at 33%. Only 14% find Clinton most likable, a scary number for someone perceived to be the establishment front runner.
Combined with the ARG poll showing Obama tied for the lead in NH, there are very strong indications that something is happening here.
