The unofficial kick-off for the 2012 campaign begins today with the 2011 New Hampshire Democratic Party Mid-Term Convention in Concord. Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, delivers the keynote address and will be joined by candidates and elected officials. Break out sessions will focus on regaining majority status in 2012.

But now the always important but somewhat dry Constitutional Committee report. God bless Chris Pappas and the committee, it is a lot of work to be on the committee.

A lot of candidate activity on the way in, people with Maggie stickers, Colin Van Ostern stickers, Jackie stickers, Obama signs, I have seen Annie Kuster, Joanne Dowdell, Andrew Hosmer, haven't seen Carol yet but she is on the program.

Nat Bresler Scholarship program (4.00 / 5)

To provide a stipend to at least two high school or college students. The process will be an essay contest with a focus on social responsibility and justice. Hoping to get 100 people to donate $50 today but any donation welcome.

Talks very personally about why she is involved in public service, starting as an advocate for her son, who has physical disabilities. Talks about O 'Brien dismantling the middle class.  He is snapping the rungs off the ladder people have used to climb into the middle class.

We are setting the tone for a new generation. Talks about economy and education and the problems of people, people who are looking for leadership. Starts talking about taxes. We can't play defense on budget, spending and taxes. Comes out against pledge, I think. But doesn't say where he stands on tax discussion.

Heart of America is a strong middle class. Talks about his fated, a vet and mill worker, mom a teacher. Guinta walks in lockstep with tea party, Cantor, Boehner and Koch brothers.

Frank Guinta has done nothing for middle class, but CSP did. Created a stimulus that protected jobs, and provided health insurance. Also repealed don't ask don't tell. Also credit card reform.

Republicans now trying to end the middle class.

Great day to be a Democrat. We must learn how to frame the message. The tea party, free staters, John birch society own the Republican Party. This is an opportunity to recommit to our core values. Sharp contrast between Republicans and Democrats.

Is now speaking. Buckley gave a real barn burner of an introduction. Congresswoman gets crowd on feet cheering about success in our special house elections. Gives shout out to CSP.
Talks about 2008 and how even though recovering from cancer, the 8 years of misguided policies of Bush years she had to go out and campaign. Talked about Barack Obama and his love of this country. Thank goodness he was president and did what needed to be done to save auto industry. Employees kept their jobs, and today companies are profitable. He never forgot middle class families. Protected Pell grants and reformed student loans. Passes credit card reform and Wall Street reform. Found bin Laden, crippled al queda, and now starting to bring soldiers home. Passes health care reform, which is personal for her as a cancer survivor. Passed Lily Ledbetter. Repealed don't ask don't tell.
She is very good.

Have you told a stranger today about Bill O'Brien and his Tea Party agenda? The people of NH deserve to hear about O'Brien  and his majority committed to destroying New Hampshire and remaking it into a armed survivalist preserve.

I learned a thing or two--too. I know a lot more about twitter than I did this morning amongst other useful things.

I admit Carol Shea Porter has my heart, (4.00 / 2)
as well as my brain, so it was good to hear Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz say she was wanted and needed back in DC. And her speech was a reminder that it was not so long ago that Democrats were moving the country forward, and Carol was in the forefront.  She worked so hard for us, on extra committees and subcommittees, doing the things she know were right for her famous "the rest of us."  Her loss last year was a painful blow, and this canard of a man who took a place, not her place, this corrupt person whose own future is the only one he seems to be able to thing about, needs to go to whatever think tank or lobbying job is waiting for him as soon as possible.
We need Carol working for NH.  She has proven herself, she is not in this for herself, she is in this for us!  No career politician, she, but a hard worker who cares deeply for her fellow citizens.  She doesn't just speak her values, she lives them.  Go, Carol!
