Occupy New Hampshire gaining momentum

by: rambler american

Tue Oct 04, 2011 at 21:31:41 PM EDT

The movement has spread to New Hampshire. Looks like they could use a little help organizing. Can't tell if it is to take place in Concord or Manchester or both. Anyway I'm very pleased that we are a part of this amazing movement.

Hey The Seacoast!! (0.00 / 0)
People round these parts are itching to do something. We do have branches of the big banks here, not just Manchester. Act locally!

No'm Sayn?

Agreed (0.00 / 0)
I listened in on one of the starter conversations of Occupy NH, and there was a large sense that acting locally is important.

This is a bit short notice, but there is a General Assembly tonight in Manchester and another over the weekend in Concord to help make decisions regarding the direction, activities and details of events in New Hampshire. Search "Occupy NH" on Facebook for further info. For now:

First Occupy New Hampshire General Assembly
Thursday, October 6 ยท 7:00pm - 11:30pm
Arms Park
10 Arms Street
Manchester, NH

THERE IS A USTREAM AVAILABLE TO PARTICIPATE: http://ustre.am/DJpP

The first GA will bring ideas and info forward to the second (to allow as many people as possible to help set the direction in NH):

Occupy NH Second GA Sunday 2:00pm Concord - check Facebook for more details.

DISCLAIMER: Granite State Progress is not officially endorsing these activities until it is further established what Occupy NH will look like here. The convening group I met was full of awesome and dynamic people. However, GSP sees individuals of questionable intent seeking to participate (infiltrate?) as well; people like Leah Wolczko, who's call to Occupy the Fed you'll see on the facebook page. You might recognize Leah as the woman cursing over the top of Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter at town halls and now promoting Ron Paul revolution -- seemingly while donning a sombrero outside of Rick Perry events. (As I said - individuals of questionable intent.)

That aside, we think some really great people are helping to bring together other great people in our state, and I'm headed down to Manchester now to hopefully hear good, solid ideas from pro-community, solution-focused folks. I'm pretty excited to see who participates -- the group from the gathering this week was mostly new to me. Lots of fresh energy and ideas.
