Congratulations, Representative Butler

( - promoted by Dean Barker)

State Rep. Tara Reardon was appointed by Governor Lynch to become the new State Commissioner of Employment Security, and has resigned from the NH House. Rep. Reardon was also  the Chairperson of the House Commerce Committee.

State Representative Ed Butler of Harts Location was the Vice Chair, and is now the Chair of the Commerce Committee.

Representative Butler is currently serving his second term in the NH House. As a constituent, and someone who has worked to get him elected, I'm incredibly proud of him, and happy for him. He really loves serving in the legislature. Ed is honored and humbled by this new opportunity.

Congratulations, Ed!

Not only a great legislator but... (4.00 / 3)
an outstanding innkeeper. He and his husband Les have one of the greatest New England Inns I have ever seen. See it for yourself at www.notchlandinn.com.

Democrats solve problems, Republicans sit and say no.

There Are Alot Of Great Legislators In The North Country (0.00 / 0)
Ed Butler, Tom Buco, Scott Merrick, and alot more I  haven't met yet. Things are going really well up there!

How is Les taking this news? (0.00 / 0)

Equal amounts of pride and irritation would be my guess.

That's Fantastic... (0.00 / 0)
...and as a tireless leader on the bill to provide protections for our transgendered citizens as well as our cause of marriage equality, he shows he can balance many pies with the same hand.  Seldom does one see "downtime" for him in the State House.

If he isn't chairing, or persuading a House member on a cause, or listening to debate, or speaking out on an issue, he's on his laptop doing his next task.

that's a lovely characterization, JIm (0.00 / 0)
Ed is also a very good friend to my husband and I. He manages to find time to be part of my husband's support network - and mine, too.

Lesson Learned (0.00 / 0)
As I recall my first meeting Representative Butler was at a 'learning' workshop.

It's encouraging when someone who doesn't mind challenging the knowledge base with new/different ways of thinking takes a recognized position of leadership.

Best wishes for future success.
