NH-02: So It'll Be Charlie Then

by: Dean Barker

Fri Apr 16, 2010 at 06:09:41 AM EDT

So much for the great Tea People test in NH-02 that was announced with much fanfare. Pindell:
Republican Second District Congressional candidate Jennifer Horn raised under $40,000 in the first three months of the year. She will file her report with the specific total tonight.

"This was a really rotten quarter," said Horn on a conference call. "We did not do what we needed to do. It was not good. Next quarter is going to be a different story."

Despite the BassMaster's own weak haul, it looks like CD2 Republicans are stuck with him.

And if money is any indicator of enthusiasm (and it isn't necessarily so), then maybe the great GOP resurgence nationwide is weaker than the tradmed has breathlessly pushed, at least as far as bellwhether districts like NH-02 are concerned.

Sorry Charlie(okay not exactly on point) (0.00 / 0)

6 days till election day
Have you knocked on doors today? Have you made calls ? Have you talked to your neighbors ?

Up Me 'n Ollies! Down with Starbucks! (0.00 / 0)
I attended the Coffee Party meeting in Portsmouth described by Judy. Apparently, we have returned to the Wild West. Where's Wyatt Earp when you need him? Me 'n Ollie's store policy saved the day. The gunslinger had to leave. Surely, if you can require customers to wear shirts and shoes, you can ask them not wear a gun in your establishment. Me'n Ollie's policy stands in stark contrast to that of Starbucks, which permits the open display of guns in its stores. I am boycotting Starbucks and taking my business to Me 'n Ollies (or any other store with a similar "no guns" policy.) I urge you to do the same. Gary Patton

So It'll Be Charlie--for the Republicans (4.00 / 1)
Chameleon Charlie, it seems, will be their nominee.

But Ann McLane Kuster will be the member of congress.

No'm Sayn?

Reading DiStaso's financial report wrap up (4.00 / 2)
in this morning's UL, I was struck at how poorly Republicans are doing...when you factor in that all of their treasuries will be vacated for the primary race, Democrats are in much better financial shape than the Republicans in 2010.

Have you written a letter to the editor today? Have you donated today? Have you put up signs? Have you made calls? Have you talked to your neighbors?

I'm working for Giuda. (0.00 / 0)
Horn doesn't even have a college degree, and she should drop out and let the two qualified people run for this seat.

We need someone to save us from nominating Bass, and it can't be someone who's worse than him. . .

But... (0.00 / 0)
The two qualified people are running for this seat. They're just both running in the Democratic primary, that's all.

Then in the general there's a Glenn Beck wannabe without the flair for theatrics or ability to fake sincerity, the washed-up retread who already got tossed out on his ear once, and a crop of vanity candidates.

IT for John Lynch '04 and NHDP '08 - I'm liking my track record so far!

If you can keep people who care about competence (0.00 / 0)
away from the polls, it's easy to elect a dodo.
